Terms of Service

Welcome to Prowl. By creating an account or using the Prowl application, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. The Service

Prowl is a web monitoring application that allows you to track changes on web pages. The service monitors URLs you specify and notifies you when changes are detected. Prowl is available as a mobile application for iOS and Android.

2. Account Registration

To use Prowl, you must create an account using a valid email address and password, or by signing in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to use Prowl.

3. Subscription Plans

Prowl offers a free tier and paid subscription plans:

• Free tier: available to all users with limited features (link count, check frequency, and fast monitoring slots).
• Paid plans (Pro, Premium): unlock higher limits and additional features.

Paid subscriptions are billed as auto-renewable subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Key terms:

• Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through your device's store settings (App Store or Google Play).
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies.
• If you downgrade your plan, excess monitored links may be paused to fit within the new plan's limits.

4. Right of Withdrawal

In accordance with Article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code, you have the right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of purchase, without providing any reason.

To exercise this right, contact us at privacy@prwl.app. Refunds will be processed within 14 days.

Note: If you have explicitly requested to start using the service during the withdrawal period, you may be charged a proportional amount corresponding to the service provided before your withdrawal.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Prowl responsibly. You must not:

• Monitor web pages containing illegal content
• Use the service to harass, stalk, or harm others
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or abuse the monitoring system
• Create multiple accounts to bypass tier limitations
• Use automated tools to interact with the service beyond its intended use
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the application

6. Service Availability

We strive to provide a reliable monitoring service, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Specifically:

• The service is provided on a "best effort" basis.
• Monitoring checks may be delayed or missed due to server load, network issues, or maintenance.
• Websites you monitor may block or limit our access, which is outside our control.
• We may perform scheduled maintenance that temporarily affects the service.

We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of planned downtime.

7. Your Content

You retain ownership of the URLs and configurations you add to Prowl. We do not claim any rights over the content of the web pages you monitor. We access those pages solely to provide the monitoring service you requested.

8. Limitation of Liability

Prowl is an informational monitoring tool. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• We are not liable for any damages arising from missed or delayed change notifications.
• We are not liable for any decisions you make based on information provided by the service.
• The service is not intended to replace professional monitoring systems for critical or safety-related applications.
• Our total liability to you for any claims arising from the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the app settings. All your data will be permanently deleted upon account deletion.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms of Service, with notice when reasonably possible. In cases of severe or repeated violations, termination may be immediate.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of France.

12. Dispute Resolution and Mediation

In accordance with Articles L611-1 and R612-1 of the French Consumer Code, in the event of an unresolved dispute, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge. We will provide the contact details of our designated mediator upon appointment.
